/ Welcome Message /

It is my great pleasure to welcome you to the APSPGHAN–PedNAT Pediatric Nutrition Academy 2027, to be held in Bangkok on 29–30 January 2027.

Nutrition is fundamental to the growth, development, and long-term health of every child. At the same time, pediatric nutrition is becoming increasingly sophisticated, requiring clinicians to combine a strong scientific foundation with the ability to translate evolving evidence into practical, individualized care. This is especially important in the Asia-Pacific region, where we care for children across diverse populations, cultures, healthcare systems, and nutritional challenges.

The Pediatric Nutrition Academy has been developed with two important aims: to foster high-quality training in pediatric nutrition for pediatricians and related pediatric subspecialists throughout the region, and to strengthen connections among trainees and faculty from APSPGHAN and PedNAT.

The program spans the foundations of pediatric nutrition through advanced clinical nutrition, with plenary lectures, interactive breakout sessions, and opportunities for discussion and experience sharing. I hope that participants will gain not only new knowledge, but also practical skills, fresh perspectives, and meaningful professional connections.

For APSPGHAN, nurturing the next generation of clinicians and strengthening regional collaboration are essential to the future of our field. By learning together and building relationships across institutions and countries, we can create a stronger community that continues to collaborate well beyond these two days in Bangkok.

I would like to express my sincere appreciation to Professor Sirinuch Chomtho, the PedNAT leadership, the APSPGHAN Nutrition Subcommittee, and all faculty members and organizers for their dedication in making this Academy possible.

I warmly invite colleagues from across the region to join us. I hope this Academy will be scientifically stimulating, clinically relevant, highly interactive, and the beginning of many new friendships and collaborations.

Together, through education, collaboration, and a shared commitment to excellence, we can advance pediatric nutrition and help children across our region achieve healthier futures.

I look forward to welcoming you to Bangkok.

/ Welcome Message /

Welcome to Bangkok, Thailand! On behalf of the organizing committee, it is our privilege to welcome you to the APSPGHAN–PedNAT Pediatric Nutrition Academy 2027,

Pediatric nutrition constitutes the foundational framework for lifelong health. During critical developmental windows in early childhood, optimal nutrition can enhance cognitive capacity and establishes metabolic programming that significantly mitigates the lifelong risk of chronic non-communicable diseases. These hold true not only in healthy children but also in children with various diseases for whom proper nutritional management can also change their clinical outcomes.

Pediatric Nutrition Association of Thailand (PedNAT) has been established to coach pediatricians and healthcare professionals on the critical role of nutrition and its profound impact on child health, growth, and cognitive development from both aspects of clinical and public health nutrition. We strive to foster partnership and exchange advanced pediatric nutrition knowledge with international professional organizations as well as to drive collaborative research throughout Thailand and beyond.

The Pediatric Nutrition Academy devises two core objectives: elevating regional training in pediatric nutrition for healthcare specialists and building a powerful collaboration between APSPGHAN and PedNAT. The comprehensive scientific program will feature symposiums, interactive workshops, and panel discussions designed to advance clinical practice and improve child health outcomes through nutrition. This academy brings together leading experts from across the Asia-Pacific region to share their knowledge and expertise in pediatric clinical nutrition.

In addition, Bangkok, with its deep-rooted traditions seamlessly blend with modernization, offers not only an inspiring venue for academic exchange but also a warm Thai hospitality. I encourage you to take this opportunity to explore the city’s lively atmosphere, and culinary delights as it is also renowned as one of the world's ultimate food capitals!

I sincerely thank you for your participation and contribution, which are vital to the success of this academy. I wish you an inspiring, productive, and memorable experience during the APSPGHAN–PedNAT Pediatric Nutrition Academy 2027 in Bangkok.
